Memorial Day was originally called “Decoration Day” after the Civil War to decorate the graves of fallen soldiers. Many of us celebrate by either grilling out or going to a friend's bar-b-que, sunning at the beach (or just doing whatever we want to with the extra time off), but for some people such as the Boy Scouts, they still visit Veteran's cemeteries and lay flowers at graves all across the nation. Really nice stuff.
I am very grateful for the men and women who have served and died to protect us and this great nation. They are the true heros in this world.
So, whatever you are doing this holiday weekend, please take some time to be thankful and appreciative to those who have sacrificed their lives so that we may enjoy these wonderful things.
Never forget.
Happy Memorial Day.
