Turbo Charge Your Work Day!

Benefits of exercising early ...

Many "non-morning" people believe that exercising early in the day will make them feel tired and worn out the rest of the day, but in fact, the exact opposite is true. If you start your day with a walk or run, a trip to the gym, yoga (or whatever exercise you prefer), you will be amazed at how much more energy you have as your metabolism will be cranked-up all day.

For me, it’s all about the run.

I have been addicted to running for 30-plus years now and barefoot beach running to be exact.

There is nothing like a run along the ocean's edge at low tide. It’s a mini-mental-vacation that I can’t put a price tag on. It is where I do my best creative thinking and sorting out all the mental “clutter” that I hold inside.

Running on the beach is so much more than just a physical workout for me … it’s a spiritual, emotional and magical experience every time. Maybe it's the smell of the salt water mixed with the South Florida humidity, or the bright sunshine on my face or even the sounds of children playing, etc ... or, maybe, it's just all of it. Either way, it's the perfect way to start my day.

Other benefits of morning workouts are: you will sleep better at night (which seems to be getting harder and harder to do these days), your self-esteem goes way up and you will probably notice that you are much sharper and more alert throughout the day.

So, don’t just take my word for it, experience it first-hand. For 30 days, make a vow to yourself to create a new habit by getting out there and trying it. Whatever your workout choice is, do it before your day gets started and I promise you will not be disappointed in doing so.

Stay hungry, stay healthy, stay alive.

Get Your Message Out!

Here are a few simple and inexpensive (or FREE) ways to advertise your business:


1) Get the word out to your friends, clients and family members about your services - Start by joining these FREE Social Media outlets: make a Facebook Business Page, join LinkedIn, open a Twitter account and even start your own blog ... all for free!

2) Invest in professional business cards – often times they are the only print item your prospects receive from you.

3) Join your local Chamber of Commerce – get involved in the community.

4) When you encounter other business owners, take the time to talk about their business.

5) Use “Pay Per Click” advertising in search engines such as Google – this way, you control the monthly budget and it reaches a worldwide audience.

6) Get involved with a local charity group - you will be surprised at how many contacts you will make while helping others ... it's a win/win for all.

Autumn Marketing

Marketing is keeping your business, products or service visible to your clients at all times. Use every opportunity to let them know that you are still here. Autumn is the perfect time to kick up your marketing efforts a notch by using the Autumn holidays to launch new marketing ideas.

Offer Fall specials:
Create a Fall special. Lower your prices on certain items if possible or offer a discount on a specific service or even hand out free samples if you can. Do something that creates added-value to your clients and prospects.

Participate in local Autumn events:
Get involved in your community leading up to the holidays. i.e. - If your town has a festival planned, sign up as a sponsor and get out there and meet new people. Try something silly like a Halloween costume contest inside your business. Whatever you do, make sure it celebrates Fall and gets people talking about your business.

Create a new direct marketing postcard:
Send out an Autumn-themed postcard listing your Fall specials to get new customers or new sales from your existing clients. Another good idea is to send your customers a really beautiful calendar that they will keep all year and look at often. Make sure your name and phone numbers are highly visible on every month.

Thank your clients:
At Thanksgiving time, say "thank you" to your clients. Send them a card just to say thank you for another year of business and loyalty and to simply wish them a Happy Thanksgiving. Your customers will appreciate it since you are extending a thoughtful gesture, not advertising a product for a change.

Get In The GROOVE This Fall ...

It's hard to believe that September is here already and that Autumn, Halloween and all the other holidays are just around the corner. Wow, time really flew by this year!

Despite all the challenges that we face today, I believe it's always a good time to reflect back on the positive in our lives and start counting our blessings there.

For me, an ad agency client summed up my entire purpose for being in business and I use her words as motivation and inspiration going forward;

In a note she wrote:

"Your prices and your turn-around times are too competitive for me to ignore - As for the other projects you have quoted, how quickly can you go to print? - You are getting ALL of our print jobs in the future (and I'm telling all my agency friends that you are an AMAZING vendor) and to do your production team a favor and hire Red Rock!” "

.... Now that is what it's all about for me and Red Rock.
