12 Great Riches of Life

--- by Napoleon Hill

1) Positive Mental Attitude
All riches begin with a state of mind. And remember, it is the one thing over which you have sole control. This is the starting point of all riches, whether they be material or intangible. It attracts true friendship and the hope of future achievement. You labor in the highest plane of your soul, creating. It attracts harmony in home relationships and friendly cooperation. It frees you from fear and provides you with the riches of enthusiasm. It inspires you with the riches of song and laughter, which indicate your state of mind. The joy of knowing that the mind can and will serve any desired end if one will take possession of it and fuel it with a definite purpose. It elicits the riches of play through which one may lay aside all of the burdens of life and become as a little child again. It puts you in touch with one’s “other self” – the self which knows no such reality as permanent failure. The wisdom of meditation through which one may draw upon the great universal supply of infinite intelligence at will. These and all other riches begin with a positive mental attitude.

2) Sound Physical Health
Sound health begins with a “health consciousness” produced by a mind that thinks in terms of health instead of sickness. It requires temperance in eating and commitment to physical activity.

Harmony with others begins with yourself. “To thine own self be true, and it must follow, as the night the day, thou cans’t not then be false to any man” ~Shakespeare

10) Self-Discipline

The greatest expression of this is in humility of the hear when one has attained great riches or has been overtaken by that which is called “success”.

Utilizing The Law of Attraction

Utilizing The Law of Attraction
By Jack Canfield

The law of attraction states that you will attract into your life--whether wanted or unwanted--whatever you give your energy, focus, and attention to.

You are constantly giving off vibrations of energy when you think and feel. These vibrations can be picked up and received by other people. That's why people say, "he has good vibes," or "he gives off bad vibes." You are constantly giving off vibrations -- literally!

If you're feeling excited, enthusiastic, passionate, happy, joyful, loving, appreciative, abundant, prosperous, relaxed and peaceful, you are giving off positive vibrations.

On the other hand, if you're feeling bored, anxious, worried, confused, sad, lonely, hurt, angry, resentful, guilty, disappointed, frustrated, overwhelmed, stressed out, or depressed, then you are giving off negative vibrations.

The law of attraction states that the universe responds to whatever you are offering -- by giving you more of whatever you are vibrating. It doesn't care whether it is good for you or not; it simply responds to your vibration.

The problem is that most of the time, you are not aware of what vibration you are offering. You are simply responding to things outside of you--current events, the news, how people treat you, the stock market, how much money you are making, how your children are doing in school, whether or not your favorite sports team wins--and then having a feeling that is either positive or negative.

When you are simply responding unconsciously to what happens around you, you tend to stay "stuck" in your current condition. This is why most people's lives never seem to change very much. They get stuck in a repeating cycle of recreating the same reality over and over by the vibration they are sending out.

It works like this... First, you observe what you currently have and are currently receiving in your life. You call this your "reality." You respond to what you observe with a feeling, positive or negative, which then gives off that vibration to the universe. The law of attraction then responds to this vibration and brings you more of what you were vibrating. This keeps the cycle going over and over, until you choose to change it through the exertion of your will. You are a victim of your lack of awareness of the law of attraction.

Spring Is In The Air!

Author: Biana Babinsky

Major department stores have been promoting Spring merchandise ever since the middle of February. The stores are hoping that the brightly colored Spring merchandise and displays will entice window shoppers to drop in and buy a few items to accelerate the arrival of a new season. Scores of customers with overflowing bags are a testament to the retail sector's masterful use of the weather to improve sales. You can utilize some of the same techniques to improve your second quarter business results.

Springtime is associated with rebirth and a new beginning. It's also a particularly auspicious time to start a new marketing campaign. A portion of the Christmas shopping debt has been settled and the shock induced by a pile of holiday bills has worn off. In addition, numerous studies show that increased sunlight tends to improve people's mood, which often manifests itself by increased consumption of goods and services. Here are three techniques you can use to follow the lead of retail outlets and make the weather work for your business:

* If you sell a tangible product, feature your Springtime product lines on your front page and other high traffic pages. Customers are actively looking for Spring products. Some seek them out of true necessity, some sense that Spring will arrive more quickly once they've purchased a new wardrobe, and yet others are hunting for bargains and closeouts of your Winter inventory. Now is the best time to market your Spring products!

* If you run a service-oriented business, you can still use the Spring to promote your services. Tie spring into your current promotions, or show your customers that some of your services are especially appropriate for the new season. For example, if you own a dry cleaning business, offer a special on dry cleaning of sweaters and winter jackets. People want to put away their winter clothes and start a new season; helping them do so will generate additional business.

* Remind your customers that Spring has arrived! Wish them a happy Spring in a cheerful voice when you answer the phone. Mention Springtime in the next newsletter you send out, and don't forget to mention your Spring-themed products and services as well -- we can't wait for the Spring to start!

Seven Steps To Help Advertise Your Business ...

How to Advertise Your Business
Contributor By eHow Contributing Writer

Advertising any business can be difficult, but a service business can be the most challenging of all to advertise. A service business is more personal by nature, because rather than selling products, what you are really selling is your own skills and talents, or those of your employees.

-- Step 1
Find what makes your business unique. What are you good at? Specialization can help a small service business break away from the crowd of competitors. Take a look at what aspect of your service you can emphasize to develop your position in the field.

-- Step 2
Focus on benefits. Rather than talking about your credentials and experience, shift the focus to the benefits that your potential client will receive. This is what your customers are interested in hearing about. For every feature that you list about your service, it's the benefits of those features that you want your audience to remember.

-- Step 3
Target your efforts. Who most needs what you have to offer? You can't market to everyone. Even the giant companies know exactly the customer they are trying to reach. Consider the age range, income level, interests and gender of your target audience. Learn as much as you can about this group. Although there are many other factors that you can consider, these few will get you moving in the right direction.

-- Step 4
Match the message to the market. You've determined who your target market is and why they need what you have to offer. Now it's time to assess how this group can best be reached. What do they read, view and listen to? What products do they purchase? How are other businesses reaching this group? This will help determine what your most effective marketing strategies will be.

-- Step 5
Consider your budget. There are low cost ways of advertising in every medium, and you don't need prime-time spots to accomplish your goals. Most businesses spend about 2 to 5 percent of their gross sales on advertising. If yours is a new business, you can project this figure from what you anticipate your sales will be.

-- Step 6
Determine cost per ad. Multiple smaller ads are generally more effective than one big ad that eats your entire budget. Radio spots can be had at a much lower cost than television. Many successful businesses run solely off of classified ads in the newspaper. Websites such as Craigslist can be a goldmine, reaching thousands of potential customers for little or no cost. Special interest pieces on television or radio or in the newspaper can be had for the cost of a press release or just letting the news department know that you exist, and what makes you unique.

-- Step 7
Be consistent. When you find what works, stick with it. Even if your chosen method doesn't work as well as you'd hoped, it often pays to stay with it for a few more months. Familiarity with an ad will often bring in customers that don't respond the first few times they see it. They need to know that you're going to be around when they need you. Don't let up on your advertising when you've got all the business you need. If you want to stay busy, steady advertising is the key.

Marketing vs. Advertising?

Marketing vs. Advertising: What's the Difference?
By

You will often find that many people confuse marketing with advertising or vice versa. While both components are important they are very different. Knowing the difference and doing your market research can put your company on the path to substantial growth.

Let's start off by reviewing the formal definitions of each and then I'll go into the explanation of how marketing and advertising differ from one another:

Advertising: The paid, public, non-personal announcement of a persuasive message by an identified sponsor; the non-personal presentation or promotion by a firm of its products to its existing and potential customers.

Marketing: The systematic planning, implementation and control of a mix of business activities intended to bring together buyers and sellers for the mutually advantageous exchange or transfer of products.

After reading both of the definitions it is easy to understand how the difference can be confusing to the point that people think of them as one-in-the same, so lets break it down a bit.

Advertising is a single component of the marketing process. It's the part that involves getting the word out concerning your business, product, or the services you are offering. It involves the process of developing strategies such as ad placement, frequency, etc. Advertising includes the placement of an ad in such mediums as newspapers, direct mail, billboards, television, radio, and of course the Internet. Advertising is the largest expense of most marketing plans, with public relations following in a close second and market research not falling far behind.

The best way to distinguish between advertising and marketing is to think of marketing as a pie, inside that pie you have slices of advertising, market research, media planning, public relations, product pricing, distribution, customer support, sales strategy, and community involvement.

Advertising only equals one piece of the pie in the strategy. All of these elements must not only work independently but they also must work together towards the bigger goal. Marketing is a process that takes time and can involve hours of research for a marketing plan to be effective.

Think of marketing as everything that an organization does to facilitate an exchange between company and consumer.
